I got rear-ended. The car insurance gave me a check to fix my car but we are thinking on not fixing it and keeping the money. Should the Actual Cash Value of the car be reduced? Does car insurance premium go up or down on a reduced ACV car?

I need a new car, but I don’t want to pay a lot for auto insurance. Right now I have a Cavalier (hate it, by the way) and because it is a Z24 it raised the insurance premium. I just wondered if there are certain makes of cars that are usually cheaper on auto insurance. Anyone know?

I’m looking at buying or leasing a new car and am wondering how that’ll affect my auto insurance premium. Also, which features in a new car affect the premium. I’ve heard about red paint and sports cars causing higher premiums, but are there any other factors?

We bought our car 5 years ago in Virginia when it was new and just finished paying off the loan. We paid ,000. Our Auto insurance premium was based on that value. After 5 years, it is now valued at ,000 but my insurance agent (Travelers) says the premium does not change just because of depreciation. Is this true?

My auto insurance premium seems to keep increasing. I drive a 2001 Nissan Altima and I’m paying over 0 a month. I have no accidents or speeding tickets on my record. My friend has a 2007 Pontiac G5 and he is paying 0. We use the same insurance company. This makes no sense to me. What seems to be happening?
I might also add that I live in Massachusetts and because we like to set ourselves apart from the rest of the nation, the state, rather than the insurance companies regulate the rates.
